A start-up developing child-safe videos and games has raised £3m in investment and now plans to expand internationally.
Azoomee is run by husband-and-wife team Douglas and Estelle Lloyd, and raised the new funding from Wealth Club, an investment service for high net worth investors.
Douglas Lloyd, the business’ chief executive, said that new parents are becoming increasingly aware of the potential dangers of children using the internet unsupervised.
“The slightly older generation of parents are less aware of the negative implications of giving your kids access to anything,” he said.
“We’ve moved a long way from when we started and people would say ‘I do not want my kid to be on a device.’ The fact is education is becoming increasingly digital, you cannot escape the fact that kids are going to be on screens.”…
